School runs are very flexible for professional drivers because of their timings. The time commitment means that for anyone who can work to a timetable it gives huge flexibility around the school contract times.
You start and finish early
By adding a school run to your regular workflow, you get to be up and out, have a good start to the day and also finish early. Most children need to be at school just before 9am with some children needing to be at breakfast clubs or to be starting school earlier leaving you free from the moment you drop off.
The early finish
Schools finish much earlier than work places usually around 3pm, some around 3.30pm and some children do finish around 2.45pm depending on their circumstances. This leaves you in a great place to be particularly for leisure, time with your own family or free to work on later contracts.
Schools only run for 39 weeks
One of the major benefits is that children are at school 39 weeks a year, giving you a whopping 13 weeks of planned breaks that is inline with your own family timetable. The 39 week period and commitment involves being there every day, rain or shine to provide access to education is rewarding and as a sub-contract driver we are able to ensure that you have connected work ensuring you get are working and earning to be able to enjoy the weeks when you’re not servicing the childrens access to education.
Your spouse can join you, as an assistant
Some children need additional care and/or support as part of their journey to school and this may simply be to ensure that yourself as the driver are able to concentrate whilst additional support and attention is given to the young student as a travel assistant. The real benefit is this can work very well for a husband and wife team and it can allow you to access work with even better incentives.
